More Direct Flights, More Reasons to Explore with Air Transat

Choosing where to travel is often the hardest part. Air Transat is making that decision a little more interesting with several new direct routes, connecting you to destinations that range from Iceland’s dramatic landscapes to Albania’s Adriatic coastline and some of the world’s most sought-after winter sun escapes.

One of the best parts of travel is discovering somewhere you hadn’t seriously considered before. Sometimes all it takes is a new direct flight to put a destination on your radar.

This year, Air Transat is expanding its network with several exciting additions. Travellers from Toronto can now fly directly to Tirana, opening the door to Albania’s growing appeal as one of Europe’s most intriguing destinations. From the stunning Albanian Riviera to charming historic towns and dramatic mountain landscapes, it’s a part of Europe that still feels refreshingly undiscovered.

For travellers departing from Montreal, Iceland joins the lineup with new direct service to Reykjavík beginning in June 2026. Famous for its black-sand beaches, geothermal hot springs and spectacular natural scenery, Iceland offers a completely different European experience that’s surprisingly accessible from Canada. The flight takes approximately five hours and includes a hot meal served with a glass of wine on board.

Looking ahead to winter, Air Transat is also introducing new non-stop flights to four sunshine favourites: Aruba, Barbados, Los Cabos and Gran Canaria. Whether you’re drawn to Caribbean beaches, Mexican coastal escapes or the year-round warmth of Spain’s Canary Islands, these new routes create even more options for escaping winter while travelling with one of Canada’s most recognized leisure airlines.

What makes these additions especially exciting is the variety. A European adventure through the Balkans, a nature-focused journey through Iceland or a relaxing winter escape somewhere warm all become a little easier when direct flights are part of the equation.

As more travellers begin planning their 2026 and 2027 vacations, these new routes may just inspire a few destinations that weren’t originally on the list.
